Nanomaterials (NMs) are substances that have particles with a length of 1–100 nm in at least one dimension. Other materials or bigger particles have less capacity to pass through the organism than NP. Nanotoxicology is a subfield of bio nanoscience concerned with the research and use of nanomaterial toxicity. Even when constructed of inert elements like gold, nanomaterials become highly active at nanoscale scales. Nanotoxicological investigations are utilised to assess whether and how these qualities might endanger the environment and human health. Nanotoxicology is a young and rapidly expanding field of toxicology research. It focuses on evaluating the toxicological properties of nanoparticles (NPs) in order to determine whether (and to what extent) they constitute a risk to the environment or society. Size, shape, surface area, surface charge, crystal structure, coating, and solubility/dissolution of NPs, as well as environmental parameters including temperature, pH, ionic strength, salinity, and organic matter, all affect NP behaviour, destiny, and transport, and ultimately toxicity. The processes underpinning nanomaterials' (NMs) toxicity have recently been intensively researched.
