The ability of some substances or mediator cells to kill living cells is referred to as cell cytotoxicity. The toxicity generated by the action of chemotherapeutic drugs on live cells is known as cytotoxicity. In nanoparticles, cytotoxicity testing is critical since they aid in determining the suggested biomedical application. A cytotoxic substance can damage or kill cells through necrosis or apoptosis. Some compounds are more cytotoxic than others, and researchers want to know how toxic a chemical is so they can make sure it isn't damaging or fatal to people. Chemical stimuli, exposure to other cells (such as NK or T cells), or physical/environmental conditions can all induce cytotoxicity, which can be triggered by chemical stimuli, exposure to other cells (such as NK or T cells), or physical/environmental conditions (radiation exposure, temperature or pressure extremes, etc.). Chemical toxicity can manifest itself in a variety of ways, but we believe there are two main types: disruption of specific biomolecular targets or pathways (e.g., receptor agonist/antagonist effects and enzyme activation/inhibition) and generalized disruption of cellular machinery, which can result in cell stress and cytotoxicity.
