Experimental and Toxicopathology

Experimental Toxicology gives an overview of experimental toxicology, including biochemical issues, experimental design, animal husbandry, species differences, immunological issues, reproductive approaches, carcinogenesis, statistics, genetics, in vitro and molecular approaches, risk assessment, information resources, aspects of legislation, good laboratory practise, and laboratory design. For beginners to the profession who want to learn what toxicology is all about, Experimental Toxicology is a must.

Toxicopathology, also known as toxicologic pathology, is the study of structural and functional changes in cells, tissues, and organs caused by toxicants (drugs, industrial and agricultural chemicals), toxins (chemicals of biological origin such as mycotoxins and phycotoxins), and physical agents (such as heat and radiation); the investigation of the mechanisms by which these changes are induced; and the development of risk assessment methods. Toxicologic pathology focuses on the toxicant's morphological or structural consequences, as well as the mechanisms that cause these structural effects.
